Saturday, in the park...
Today hubby and I took chicklet to the park while brothers were snowboarding. I am playing w/ a fun lens today!
This goose was amazingly bold. He came right up to me, checking out my pants & shoes. He was incredibly friendly.

all in the family
Every now and then someone comes across a Nerf gun in their closet, or from under the bed, and the Nerf Wars begin. All I have to say is that... at least they're playing with each other.
This one is totally innbcent. He doesn't shoot unless he's shot at!
Bonnie & Clyde?
Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum
Apparently, 16 is not too old to be playing with toys!

I actually took this picture in September 2009. I love the orchids and I LOVE their personalities! Sometimes they look like a butterfly, sometimes like a lion ready to pounce on their prey. Sometimes they look like a nasty vicious bug w/ poisenous fangs. But they are BEAUTIFUL creations! I can't wait to see what the flowers look like in Heaven!
I also like the bokeh!

Gideon's Army
We read about Gideon in our history this week. God chose little Gideon to be a Judge (leader) for Isreal. God told Gideon that the Isrealites would win a particular battle against the Philistines. God told Gideon to reduce the amount of soldiers going to fight in this particular battle, so that when the Isrealites won, they would offer the glory to God and not themselves.
Gideon's army collected all the pots and buckets the people had, and surrounded the camp of the Philistines at night. They smashed the pots w/ hammers and yelled and blew their horns. The deafening noise was quite frightful to the Philistines. Some of the Philistine soldiers killed themselves in fear, the others ran away. They thought the Isrealite army surrounding them was HUGE because of all the noise.
So the kids made pots and buckets and baskets out of clay to represent what Gideon's army might have used to scare the Philistines. Here's a shot I took today of some of the items. I was trying to work on my Depth of Field. Don't think I did a great job but.. .that's ok!

A whole year?
Last summer, I heard about a book that had been published - about 2 cross country friends who emailed a picture to each other every day for a year. These pictures documented daily moments, vacations, inanimate objects. I wish I could remember the name of the title.
This past December, I bought a book called The Photo Bucket - 101 Photos To Take Before You Die. Some amazing pictures! I wish I had the equipment and knowledge and travel money to take some of those photos!
However, in my little REAL world, I don't. I'd like to incorporate both ideas in my blog. Document the daily moments, whether spectacular or not. Whether they make my Photo Bucket List or someone else's. Maybe someone besides me might find it interesting. It'd have to be someone REALLY weird, but Lord knows, those people are out there.
Today we ventured to the Wetlands Park, right here in the desert! We walked for a while, enjoying the warmth and sunshine. I caught this snapshot of Hubby & Chicklet sharing a tender moment. The focus isn't the best. The aperature was 5.6, shutter speed 1/1600, iso 200. But it's a sweet picture. I used a preset in lightroom.
