Wednesday

This is a picture of the messy dining room!
The china closet is there, but the piano
won't fit. We've left the dining room table up
there as my desk & sewing table.
The computer desk is still there
but we are going to get rid of it and the one
in the kitchen area. We'll replace those w/
laptops in December. This will take me about
30 min to finish.


Here's the loft. Most the boxes
are empty, just need to be moved.
We'll get rid of the computer in Dec.
Once the boxes are gone and the
floor is vacuumed, it will look so much
nicer. We're getting an 8' plastic table to
put in the loft for school. We can fold it up
and put it away if we don't need it.



Living room needs to be painted, dusted
and junk put away. But most of our living
room furniture is in the living room!

I just need to get a few hours and start finishing this project, then we can start painting.

Where has the time gone?

Oops, kinda forgot about the blog! We are about 90% done w/ rearranging, I just have a few boxes to unpack and lots of empties. I will post some pix of the inbetween.

I had finally found the color I want to paint our bedroom, but... (there's always the 'but') when I threw some of it on the wall in our room, it didn't look the same. I'm bummed. Our bedroom windows face north, so we don't get much direct light in there. I'm on the search for another shade I guess.

I've been sick the last few days - but feeling better today. I went to the gym & grocery store, made chocolate chip cookies for the kids & peach pie for my hubby. He was very happy ;)

Day 1 down

I don't have pix to post today, I need to take some. I straightened up the laundry room a lot, got rid of a bunch of stuff in there.

I started hauling stuff out of the dining room and taking the homeschool stuff upstairs. We have a nice sized loft which we will take over for school. I will put all our bookcases up there, and our new work table (my former dining room table). I will also keep my fabric up there as I will be sewing on the same table. I am going to the store to get clear bins to sort and keep the fabric.

Time to start going through some more stuff before hubby gets home. It's a little messy in the 'meantime' but there is progress!

More Stuff

Is this sad or what? I can't wait till it's all uncluttered!

'Nuff of the Stuff!

I hate clutter! I can't stand it anymore. I feel like I am being swallowed up by it! What happened? When did it all happen?

We moved into our home on March 23, 2002. The pix I have after we moved in show a nice, orderly house. Beds were made, the furniture didn't take over the rooms. It was peaceful when you walked into the house. When did the piles start? It seems I am always hauling out bags of stuff to take to the thrift store. How do the piles get so big?

Kids get bigger. Their stuff gets bigger. Hobbies require more 'stuff'. Clothes never seem to put themselves away! Hubby has wonderful clients who like to clean out their house and give us their 'stuff'.

Well I have had enough. Enough of the 'stuff', enough of the clutter. I want to be organized! My God is not a god of chaos, He is the God of Order! His creation is orderly and in sync. I am part of His creation, I should be orderly and in sync.

We have this beautiful house that is not being used properly. I want my house to be a sanctuary, not a zoo. Here's what I propose to do.

I want to get my house into shape. I want the crap out of here and only have stuff in the house that we will use. I will rearrange furniture, get rid of stuff, paint (that's an extra fun), and breathe deeply when it's done. I want our children to grow up in peace and cleanliness. Not clutter. I look at their rooms and I see apples don't fall far from the tree.

I took some 'before' pix this afternoon. I am embarassed to post them. But think how proud I'll be when I post the 'after; pix.

I've posted a pix of the living room, 2 of the dining room (table & comp. pix) and 2 of my laundry room. I am going to post again and put up pix of my family room, kitchen area, bedroom, loft & bathroom.

Hump Day

Chicklet is working on a new quilt for her bed!

Scotty's tired from napping all day so he's taking another nap.

It's getting too hot for me! I think it was 11o today, easily. Thank GOD for evap. coolers and air conditioning.
