I like them both

Do you see the banner to the right, Project 52 ?

Well, its a year long project to advance one's photography skills.  Each week, the gal in charge over there gives us a 'theme'... something to shoot during the week.
The picture has to be taken during that particular week  and posted on the group site at Flickr.com.

Anyway... this week's theme is Shades of Gray.

What to shoot?  Most people posting are using actions or presets to change their pix to 'shades of gray'.  Ok, I did the same thing.  No judging here, lol.

Well, morbid and curious me stopped at the Veterans' Memorial Cemetary in Boulder City this morning.  The sun was wiggling it's way through the overcast skies.  I took several shots, but these 2 are my favorites.  I am debating submitting on of these for the weekly assignment.
What do you think?

Cute Prayer Journals

I finished up some more journals last night and listed them on Etsy.  I think they’re adorable, hope some people on Etsy do too!

Family

Took the group down to the park yesterday for some quick family  photos… didn’t give anyone an option out.

The lighting was great and I loved shooting w/ the weeping willow in the background.

Chicklet in the Park

So I asked if  anyone wanted to go to the park so I could try to figure out my new camera…. Surprise!  Chicklet was the only one who wanted to go!
She fussed over her outfit until it was ‘just right.’  (she and I could both use some fashion lessons).
It’s cold outside, chilly!  And she chooses a summer dress w/ some summer shoes.  BRRR!  I froze while taking photos.  Anyway, I think we have some cute ones though!

Resolutions, Schmezolutions!

Resolutions?
Do you have any?
Here's my list for 2011...
-use my time better for God
-pray more for my kids
- lose weight
-eat 5 servings veggies every day
-be joyful in all that I do
-keep my list of 'to do's caught up
-be a better wife/mom
-handle money better
-keep my home life prioritized and in order
-not get behind in homeschool
-get up at 5:30 am everyday so I can have my 'quiet time' and get to the gym & back before kids get up for school and...
-go to gym 6 mornings a week

Doesn't seem to overwhelming, does it?
I'll be happy to narrow that down to one resolution!
Maybe I should take a poll?

Bucket List for 2011

-Colorado quilt camp
-Ely quilt camp
-Vegas quilt camp
-Beach/photography road trip w/ Becky & Leslie
- spend the summer somewhere cooler than the desert
-visit my Mid at the Academy

(is this an extension of my resolution list?  I think I could write this list all day...)
So - what do you have planned for this year? How are we going to use your time better? How do you think I should use my time better? (be careful...;-))
Leave a comment and tell me what your goals are... I'll keep them in my prayers!

2010

It's 2011! Woohoo!

My 2 youngun's talked me into staying up for the New Year.  And now its here... do I get to go to bed?

It's been a year of changes, just like any other year.  Everything is new, yet nothing's changed.  God is on the throne and there lies my comfort!  He knows all these things ahead of time.  He prepares us and holds us in the palms of His hands.  And  that is something that will never change!
